Quality Certifications

DBA has long been an industry leader in quality certification. It met the international ISO 9002 standard in 1995. Two years later, further improvements to its management system were recognised with accreditation to the international standards ISO 9001 and QS 9000.

DBA's commitment to quality and safety has been acknowledged by The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) with the following awards:

-  Excellence in Manufacturing (gold award) 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009

-  Best Aftermarket Product in Parts (gold award) 1997, 1999, 2000

-  Best New Aftermarket Product in Performance (gold award) 2005

In 2009, DBA attained TS16949, the International Organisation of Standardisation’s highest ranking for automotive suppliers. This new Technical Specification standard (TS16949) increases the company’s ability to supply any major manufacturer in the world.

It is the new global automotive standard covering design/development, production, installation and servicing and aligns American (QS-9000), German (VDA6.1), French (EAQF) and Italian (AVSQ) quality standards.

It was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which takes in BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford, GM, VW, Renault and others, with cooperation from national trade associations and the Japanese vehicle manufacturers association, JAMA. In short, it means DBA can continue to increase its OE and P&A business without the further expense and delays of meeting individual corporate quality standards.

In November 2009 TUV Rhineland audited the DBA management system and certified it to meet the requirements of the German Road Traffic Legal Authority (and TS16949).
